Description: This event is generated when a web server infected by the slapper worm attempts to infect a web server running OpenSSL. Impact: Attempted remote access. The slapper worm attempts to exploit a buffer overflow vulnerability associated with vulnerable versions of OpenSSL, permitting the execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable server. Corrective: Apply the appropriate patch or upgrade to the most current version of OpenSSL.
