Description: This event is generated when an attempt to abuse an FTP servers functionality and configuration weaknesses is attempted. Impact: The attacker may have the ability to execute commands remotely within an FTP session. Corrective: Upgrade the FTP server software to a non-vulnerable version Restrict access to the FTP server to trusted users/IP addresses, Disallow automatic file archival Disable FTP server and use secure shell (SSH) for transferring files.
